Wren Urban Nest is committed to creating magical and memorable Christmas celebrations that are aligned with our sustainable values,” said General Manager Phoebe Fairbairn. “We believe that by taking conscious steps towards reducing our environmental impact, we can enjoy the Christmas season while giving back to the planet.”

Key features of sustainable nostalgic Christmas parties, at Wren Urban Nest:

Eco-Friendly Decorations: Wren decorates the venue with natural, reusable, and locally sourced decor, all the while, ensuring that your celebration is both festive and environmentally conscious.

Working with local event stylist and creator Geraldine Coakley, who’s passion is working with natural and sustainable materials, our Christmas decoration materials are foraged from a local forestry and parkland, to ensure that Christmas aroma, while creating beautiful handmade decorations. Close your eyes and breathe in the scents of cinnamon, pinecones, oranges, and natural woods.  Wren Urban Nest strives to stimulate creativity for its’ guests while simultaneously encouraging them to slow down this Christmas and enjoy its calm and cosy surroundings. It may even inspire them to recreate eco-friendly decorations themselves.

Energy Efficiency: Our venue features energy-efficient lighting, climate control systems, and 50% fewer fairy lights than standard venues, contributing to reduced energy consumption. Did you know? – Christmas tree lights left on for 10 hours a day over the 12 days of Christmas, produce enough CO2 to inflate 12 balloons.

Locally Sourced Cuisine: Enjoy delectable, locally sourced, and organic food and beverages that reduce your carbon footprint and support local producers. The kitchen which does not rely on gas, runs on renewable energy and is fossil fuel free. The creative and cleverly designed menus ensure that none of the locally sourced ingredients go to waste, maintaining a zero-waste kitchen.

Tasty dishes like homemade wonky veg soup served with warm breads, cranberry glazed pork rack, braised red cabbage, and creamy potato gratin, are just perfect to warm you up on cold Irish winter days.

Ethically sourced gifts in-house: paperless gift vouchers, Irish-made soy wax and plant-derived scented candles, hand-made Mourne textile throws, vegan and cruelty-free Handmade Soap Company gift sets.
