This summer, expect even more lakeside luxury at Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa. The 5-star Killarney hotel recently refurbished 12 stunning lakeview suites, and has launched new culinary experiences designed to make the most of long, sun-filled evenings overlooking the Lakes of Killarney.
The newly transformed lakeview suites — now open for bookings — are the ultimate five-star experience, combining plush interiors with panoramic views in what is probably Killarney’s most scenic hotel. The designers Cantrell and Crowley partnered with Nordic Elements to create a tranquil sanctuary with Scandinavian accents. The furniture and materials used reflect the natural landscape, designs drawn from Danish mid-century traditions resulting in a unique and special experience that embodies the timeless elegance of Scandinavian design.
Guests can unwind in the spacious rooms, soak in spa-style bathrooms, and experience unmatched tranquility framed by the natural beauty of Killarney’s lakes and mountains. The suites also reflect a growing commitment to sustainability, featuring 100% natural, vegan, handmade Irish products by Peigin Crowley and the elimination of single-use plastics.
For the ultimate private escape, Aghadoe’s spectacular 3,000 sq. ft. penthouse remains a best-kept secret. Refurbished last summer, it boasts two bedrooms, a sitting room, dining space, a private bar, and an expansive wraparound terrace with a hot tub. Accessible by a private lift, it offers guests the feeling of floating above Kerry, wrapped in silence and serenity.
Summer dining also takes centre stage at Aghadoe, with a series of delicious new additions at the hotel’s acclaimed restaurants. A new Lounge Menu in the casual dining space puts locally sourced ingredients in the spotlight, with elevated touches such as Artisan Cheese Boards, Irish Salmon Sharing Plates, and a diverse offering of light bites, salads, mains, and desserts.
In the fine-dining Lake Room Restaurant, which is one of the best restaurants in Killarney, guests can discover seasonal additions inspired by Irish traditions and foraged ingredients, paired with modern culinary techniques and the meticulous attention of the hotel’s head chef Cedric Bottarlini and award-winning team. Highlights include Cromane mussels, Monkfish, Hake with courgette and Yuzu for dessert.
For a more relaxed dining experience, the hotel has introduced Plataí Beaga – Kerry Tapas every Friday and Saturday evening on the terrace. Overlooking one of Ireland’s most iconic views, guests can savour small plates bursting with flavour while sipping a glass of wine in the evening summer sun.
Aghadoe Heights is also embracing the summer holidays as a perfect opportunity for family escapes, offering 11 family rooms, including one newly refurbished family suite, interconnecting rooms, and dedicated children’s dining options — from children’s afternoon tea to full access to the hotel’s swimming pool. The hotel has seen a rise in multi-generational breaks as they offer something for all ages.
Looking ahead, Aghadoe Heights plans further enhancements to its guest experiences and award-winning spa offering in 2026, building on its reputation as one of Ireland’s top luxury wellness destinations.
Newly appointed general manager, Brian Bowler said, “We’re thrilled to welcome guests to an exciting summer season here at Aghadoe Heights. Our newly refurbished lakeside suites truly raise the bar for luxury and comfort, offering guests the chance to unwind in style while taking in some of the most breathtaking views in Ireland. Whether you’re joining us for a family getaway, a romantic escape, or a moment of well-earned rest, this summer at Aghadoe promises something special for everyone.”
