SANO Pizza has reached an impressive milestone, recently serving its one-millionth pizza at its flagship restaurant in Temple Bar, Dublin.
Opened in 2018, SANO has rapidly expanded across Ireland and the UK – now boasting five thriving locations in Dublin, Cork and Glasgow. The brand’s journey started at 1-2 Exchange Street Upper, Temple Bar, where the restaurant quickly became a local favourite, thanks to its high-quality sourdough pizzas.
Co-owner Raymond MacHugh said, “Reaching the one million pizza mark is a testament to our team’s hard work and our loyal customers’ unwavering support. From day one, our mission has been to offer an authentic Neapolitan pizza experience. Temple Bar in Dublin is where SANO was born and holds a special place in our hearts. We’re thrilled to continue serving the community that has embraced us so warmly.”
At the heart of SANO’s success is its commitment to traditional techniques. Each pizza is handmade daily using a 48-hour fermented sourdough base, resulting in a lighter pizza. Topped with ingredients such as Napoletana Fiammante tomatoes and spicy salami from Calabria, each pizza reflects the flavours found in Naples. SANO menu favourites include the ever-popular Margherita with fresh mozzarella, basil & tomato sugo and the Maradona with anchovies, capers, oregano, olives, basil, garlic, fresh mozzarella & tomato sugo.
SANO Temple Bar has seating for over 130 people and an Instagram-worthy interior featuring exposed brickwork, geometric tiles, and vibrant street art murals reminiscent of the street graffiti in Naples. The restaurant’s lively atmosphere has made it a hit with pizza lovers, city-centre workers and tourists alike.
SANO has thrived in the competitive Dublin dining market, welcoming thousands of customers every week and frequently topping the most-ordered food on Deliveroo. The business model has proven to be a game changer, positioning the company for continued growth across Ireland and beyond.
Following its success in Temple Bar in Dublin, SANO Pizza’s expansion has been met with enthusiasm in new locations, including Ranelagh, Cork and Glasgow, and the brand is eyeing further opportunities to bring its authentic pizza to even more customers. With all locations now thriving, the one million pizza milestone is just the beginning of SANO’s exciting growth story.
