July 2020: Prado are delighted to announce they will reopen their seaside restaurant on Thursday July 9th, with a new look menu, and additional dining options for their loyal customers. Like most restaurants, they have been closed due to COVID restrictions but are so excited to finally welcome guests back.

Prado, the sister of Dublin’s premium barbecue restaurant Asador, opened its doors to the public last year, bringing Mediterranean food cooked over an open fire and by the sea to the neighbourhood of Clontarf.

Open from Thursday to Sunday, Prado will now be offering tea, coffee and pastries from 10am-12pm.

Customers can enjoy their freshly baked goods, and barista coffee’s in the beautiful interiors of the restaurant or can be taken to go.

Offering an all-day menu from 12pm to 9pm which includes their classics like the Prado Burger, Chargrilled Free-Range Chicken, mouth-watering Steaks and not forgetting, famous fish and chips. Excitingly, they have also selected a few Asador favourites to join Prado’s much-loved menu, such as Asador’s glazed ribs, delicious wings, and famous sticks (at lunch only).

With a team of talented in-house pastry chefs, the Dessert Menu is another crowd pleaser at Prado. The local’s favourite Prado Sundae gets top spot; however, the Eton Mess and Chocolate Fondant doesn’t come far behind. This menu ticks all the boxes with a kid’s menu also available.

Prado’s new click and collect option (limited menu), is also perfect for those who want to enjoy their meal along the promenade, or in the stunning surroundings of St. Anne’s park, both are within a 5 min walk of the restaurant.

During COVID closures, Prado launched their “At Home” brand with sister restaurant Asador, which quickly became a firm favourite across the city. The stress free, at home cooking packs include your entire ready-tocook meal as well as Asador and Prado’s delicious accompanying sides and sauces. They even provide tips, tricks, and cooking instructions to ensure you serve up the perfect meal you would expect to receive at either of their restaurants. Luckily for us, the At Home offering is here to stay and will be available alongside their click and collect service and dine-in options.

Clontarf in Irish translates to ‘Meadow of the Bulls’ in English and Prado Del Toro in Spanish, thus referencing the local area as well as giving a nod to the Mediterranean style of cooking over fire. Now, more than ever before, the focus is on supporting Irish produce, and diners will be able to do so by enjoying the Prado experience once again.
