Mams Go Free
This Mother’s Day, Dublin Zoo is helping families across Ireland celebrate the mothers in their lives with a ‘mams go free’ offer.
With engaging activities taking place throughout the Zoo, including a playful pop-up trail where visitors can discover animal mammies of the Wild, there will be something for everyone to enjoy this Mother’s Day at Dublin Zoo.
To mark the special occasion, visitors can avail of one complimentary adult ticket when a full paying adult or child ticket is purchased online.*
All-Things-Irish Takeover
This special offer forms part of Dublin Zoo’s All-Things-Irish Takeover, running from the 14th to the 17th of March. During the shamrockin’ four-day event, Dublin Zoo will become a vibrant celebration of everything we’re proud of – Irish warmth, humour, community and heritage – seen through the shared instincts of people and animals alike.
The immersive, site-wide takeover brings Irish traditions to life in a whole new way. At almost 200 years old, Dublin Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the world and a treasured part of Ireland’s cultural landscape, where generations have created lasting memories. This March, Dublin Zoo celebrates Irish heritage and community spirit through a vibrant programme of music, storytelling and shared experiences.
What’s On?
Visitors can stop by the Discovery & Learning Centre to enjoy interactive Disco Bingo Shows, Games Sessions and Shared Creative Spaces inspired by Ireland’s strong sense of togetherness – from close-knit communities to animal herds in the wild. Traditional storytelling comes to life through Puppet Shows and engaging keeper talks, blending Irish imagination with fascinating animal tales.
On St. Patrick’s Day, the festivities continue with live traditional Irish music in the Meerkat Restaurant alongside high-energy disco sessions in the Discovery & Learning Theatre, creating a lively, celebratory atmosphere throughout the Zoo.
Daily creative activities in the Discovery & Learning Centre, including face painting and themed St. Patrick’s Day crafts, offer relaxed, drop-in fun for visitors of all ages. A full schedule of events can be found online at dublinzoo.ie/allthingsirishtakeover
So, whether you’re continuing a family tradition, exploring Dublin as a visitor, enjoying a day out with friends or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to discover at Dublin Zoo’s All-Things-Irish Takeover.
Celebration with a Purpose
Róisín Healy, Marketing Manager at Dublin Zoo, said: “Dublin Zoo is delighted to invite visitors to join us for our four-day All-Things-Irish Takeover, running from the 14th–17th of March. Taking place from this weekend right up to St. Patrick’s Day (including Mother’s Day), the event celebrates everything that makes us proud to be Irish – our warmth, humour, community and heritage – and of course the wonderful mammies across Ireland. We hope visitors will come along to enjoy a celebration full of heart, ceol agus craic. As a conservation charity, every visit helps support our vital work – protecting wildlife at Dublin Zoo, conserving native species across Ireland, and supporting more than 30 conservation projects around the world.”
