On June 14th, Jess Murphy of Kai in Galway will collaborate with Meeran Manzoor of Rare at Blue Haven in Kinsale for one night only. Together, they will create a unique seven-course tasting menu inspired by their individual takes on rustic South Indian cuisine.
Meeran Manzoor, Executive Head Chef at Rare at Blue Haven, said, “I have admired Jess’s love of Indian food from afar, and I’m really looking forward to sharing the kitchen with her to showcase regional Indian cuisine. The evening will take inspiration from South India while making the most of the amazing seasonal produce we have on our doorstep here in Cork.”
Named after the Māori word for food and a nod to founder Jess’ New Zealand roots, Kai in Galway follows a simple philosophy of using high-quality produce, preferably organic or wild, sourced locally and cooked intelligently. Kai also holds a Michelin Green Star, awarded to restaurants that combine “culinary excellence with outstanding eco-friendly commitments.” Rare, meanwhile, has become known for Meeran’s signature blend of South Indian heritage and French culinary techniques, resulting in hyper-local, ingredient-driven dishes.
Guests will enjoy an exclusive seven-course tasting menu priced at €125 per person, with optional wine pairings available. Due to the nature of the tasting menu, Rare at Blue Haven is unable to accommodate any allergens.
