Health and Wellness is on the Savour agenda again this October bank holiday with talks and workshops on key topics in nutrition for all stages in life.

On Monday 28th October, three free (but ticketed) events will take place on the Savour Stage on The Parade in Kilkenny city. They include a cookery demonstration on Gut Healing Foods with The Tummy Fairy, Ciara Turley. Ciara is particularly enthusiastic about reducing sugar intake and incorporating whole foods into her recipes.

Registered Dietician and Founder of Kilkenny’s ‘Nutri Vive’, Ellen Roche, will host a talk and workshop on “Nourishing Our Children”. This event will guide you through the essentials of fuelling your child’s growth, development, and learning. You are sure to come away with valuable tips on managing fussy eating, and ensuring your child gets the best start in life.

Closing out is The Wellness Warrior, Catherine O’Keeffe, who will host “Living Your Best Life in Your 50’s”. Catherine will cover weight management, heart, bone, cognitive health and how to optimise your health during menopause.

Other wellness events will take place across the Savour Kilkenny festival weekend (25th to 28th October), including ‘Yoga Brunch Bliss’ and ‘Pilates, Wine and Cheese’ sessions at Koru Wellness. While “Mindfulness, Food and Emotional Regulation” with mindfulness instructor Liz Shortall and Gráinne Burke of Kilkenny Leader Partnership, takes place on Friday 25th October in the Avalon Hotel, Castlecomer. This ticketed event (10am to 1pm) includes lunch and a workshop on a more mindful approach to food and its impact on our emotional regulation. The event will focus on how to develop a more mindful approach to our food choices and how this can impact more positively on our emotional and physical well-being.

Marian Flannery, Savour Kilkenny Food Festival Manager, said:

“We are delighted to offer such a diverse range of sessions focused on well-being, nutrition, and self-care. With events for adults experiencing different life stages as well as for parents of children, who wish to learn more on fuelling their child’s growth. Our goal is to provide festival-goers with practical insights and tools so they can make positive changes in their lives.”
