Four distinctive new bars, restaurants, and a nightclub will open on Exchequer Street soon, each with its own personality and purpose, and all finding their home within The Hoxton, Dublin, the vibrant new opening in the heart of the city. Together, they bring a fresh mix offlavour, warmth and late-night energy to the neighbourhood, inviting locals and visitors alike to eat, drink, and linger a little longer.
At the heart of the building sits Cantina Valentina, a bright, Peruvian-inspired restaurant that channels the generous, flavour-packed spirit of Lima’s picanterías, the family-run canteens known for flavourful food and big hospitality. Opening this month, Cantina Valentina brings together natural textures, handcrafted materials, and a striking mural by artist Cadhla Forde, inspired by the rainbow mountains of the Andes.
Dishes are vibrant and bold — from the Lima Burger and classic ceviche to croquetas, marinated beef skewers, slow-cooked lamb, and whole grilled fish to share with aji miso curry sauce. At the bar, the house spicy margarita (Poco Picante – blanco tequila, curaçao, ají rocoto chilli, guava, pink peppercorn) and a menu of five rotating pisco sours sit alongside a wine list that includes a curated selection of South American wines, to complement the dishes perfectly. Lunch at Cantina Valentina runs Wednesday to Sunday and dinner Tuesday to Sunday, with breakfast and brunch launching soon after opening.
Next door, Dollars brings a laid-back rhythm, opening early, and serving great coffee, stacked deli sandwiches, soups and salads until the late afternoon, with an evening wine bar opening soon. The space is stripped-back and tactile — stainless steel, warm timber and a long bar that looks straight out onto Exchequer Street, perfect for watching the world go by.
Upstairs, The Library Bar makes a much-loved return, restored with care and character. Once again one of the city’s most inviting hideaways, it keeps the charm of the original — open fires, timber panelling, vintage furniture — now joined by a marble-topped bar and soft, contemporary lighting. Always unbeatable then, and now, for a toastie and a pint, a plate of oysters and a good glass of wine, or a quiet conversation.
And hidden below street level, Groundwork will open early next year as The Hoxton’s first-ever nightclub — a space built for dancing, connection, and creativity. Carrying forward the building’s long-standing legacy of late-night culture, it promises an inclusive, energetic addition to Dublin’s nightlife scene, working closely with local music talent to shape its programming.
