The Oliver Dunne Restaurant Group has expanded its restaurant portfolio with the addition of Beef & Lobster in Galway city centre. With two of the steak and shellfish restaurants already established in Dublin, one in Temple Bar and one in Malahide, this will be the chef and restaurenteur’s first venture outside the capital.
The restaurant which specialises in dry aged steak cuts, Irish lobster and shellfish is the latest addition to Galway’s vibrant restaurant scene, opening on the corner of Williamsgate Street and Eglinton Street (formerly Maxwells Restaurant).
Beef & Lobster’s food philosophy is simple: top quality grass fed dry-aged steaks – on and off the bone – plus Irish lobster and shellfish, cooked simply to allow the freshness and quality of the ingredients to take centre stage. The vibe is laid-back and casual with the focus on the social aspect of dining.
Oliver Dunne said, “We’re delighted to have Galway as the location for our third Beef & Lobster. We thought it was such a fantastic opportunity as we’ve really found a niche in the market – there is nobody doing what we’re doing so we think we have a lot to offer in such a renowned foodie city. We’ve had such great success with Beef & Lobster in both our Dublin locations and we’re confident that the people of Galway are going to love it just as much. Galway is a wonderful city and it was the obvious choice for our first restaurant outside of Dublin and I really look forward to spending more time here.”
Beef & Lobster offers a varied selection of starters including Lobster and Prawn Fritters with Jalapenos, Honey and Lemon Aioli, and their signature starter of Duck Wings with three different styles and dips available.
