– More than 20 animals at Dublin Zoo celebrate their birthdays in June

 – Fun activities scheduled across the Bank Holiday weekend, including the chance to create a birthday card for your favourite animal and win an exclusive VIP experience!

This June Bank Holiday weekend, Dublin Zoo is inviting families and friends to celebrate its biggest birthday month of the year as more than 20 animals have their birthdays in June. From Saturday, 30th May, to Monday, 1st June, enjoy family-friendly fun and animal-themed activities as Dublin Zoo celebrates the birthdays of some iconic residents including red pandas, rhinos, sea lions and lions.

Dublin Zoo will mark the occasion this weekend with music, games, keeper talks, conservation stations, creative activities, special surprises and the chance to win a truly wild prize.

Across the Bank Holiday weekend, families can enjoy a lively party atmosphere throughout the Zoo. Guests can also take part in birthday-themed competitions, including the chance to submit a handmade birthday card for one of Dublin Zoo’s June birthday Zoo-perstars, with a special money-can’t-buy prize up for grabs – a VIP experience full of surprises, including an extra special visit to the Zoo’s majestic Asian elephant herd! The celebrations will culminate each day with a Party Hat Parade on the Great Lawn.

As visitors enjoy the celebrations, they will also discover more about the challenges these incredible species face in the wild and how Dublin Zoo, together with its conservation partners, is working to help protect them for the future.

Activities for all ages will take place around Dublin Zoo, from 10.30am – 2.30pm:

  • Birthday card and party hat making at the Farmhouse (where you can enter the VIP experience competition!)
  • Face Painting in Zoorassic World
  • Live music, family party games and party hat parade on the Great Lawn
