On  Thursday, Jan 29th, Dublin’s favourite pie was officially crowned following an exclusive ‘Pie January’ tasting at Tenters Gastropub, nestled within Aloft Dublin City, where some of the city’s best-known food lovers gathered to swap Dry January for proper winter comfort.

Invited guests were welcomed into the Liberties’ trendiest venue for a private tasting experience, complete with custom Pie Scorecards and plenty of friendly debate as steaming dishes of Tenters’ signature gastro pies landed at the table.

After a closely fought vote, the Tender Ham Hock and French Brie Gastro Pie emerged as the clear crowd favourite, winning praise for its rich filling, flaky pastry and generous gravy.

Among those enjoying the evening were foodie influencer Claudia Surya, stylist Justine King, journalist Jo Linehan and dancer Adam Fogarty, who joined fellow guests for an indulgent night of great food and relaxed atmosphere.

The tasting showcased Tenters’ rotating pie menu, including favourites such as Slow-braised Beef and Vegetable, Chicken and Mild Curry, and Chicken, Mushroom and Leek, alongside vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

The celebrations continued upstairs at Aloft’s rooftop WXYZ Bar, where guests rounded off the night with cocktails and sweeping city views.

Pies at Tenters Gastropub are priced from €19 and served with a choice of side salad or hand-cut fries, with the Pie January menu rotating throughout the month.
