Kaizen Blanchardstown, Dublin | Week commencing 6 April 2026

Kaizen Chinese Restaurant in Blanchardstown is inviting Dublin diners to book now for a one-week-only Lucky Red Envelope dining experience this April, where every table has the chance to uncover a surprise prize hidden beneath their seat — including one standout €500 prize to be won on a mystery night during the week.

Throughout the week, each table at Kaizen will discover a sealed red envelope hidden beneath one of their chairs, offering a moment of surprise at the end of the meal. Rooted in Chinese tradition, red envelopes – known as hóngbāo – are typically gifted during celebrations to symbolise good fortune, prosperity and luck.

At Kaizen, each envelope will contain a small reward for the table, with examples including a complimentary dessert or a drink on the house.

For those who uncover a voucher, the experience continues with a ‘Fortune Roll’, where guests roll a dice to determine their rewards which include vouchers from €10 to €50 or an €88 voucher, with the number eight traditionally associated with good fortune in Chinese culture.

Adding to the sense of anticipation, one envelope during the week will contain a grand prize of a €500 Kaizen dining voucher.

The winning envelope will be placed on a random evening during the week, with no indication given in advance, meaning every table has an equal chance of uncovering it.

Red envelopes are traditionally given to mark celebration and good fortune, and here that idea is carried through to the dining experience, with a simple element of surprise built into each table.

Opened in 2024, Kaizen builds on the culinary heritage of Ka Shing, established in Dublin in 2013. The restaurant focuses on refined Cantonese cooking with a strong Hong Kong influence, paired with seasonal Irish produce, and was recently named Best Chinese Restaurant in Dublin at the 2025 Asian Restaurant Awards.

The Lucky Red Envelope experience will run for a limited time only during the week commencing 6 April.
