11th of March 2026, FIRE Steakhouse & Bar is proud to announce an exceptional culinary collaboration this month, as it prepares to feature a special ‘Guest Steak’, the National Gold Award winning ribeye from O’Leary Family Butchers Co Cork.

The award-winning ribeye was crowned Best Ribeye in Ireland at the Craft Butcher Expo 2026, where it  also secured the winning title ‘Best in Munster.’ The prestigious award, presented by the Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland, recognises excellence, skill and innovation among the country’s finest craft butchers.

The accolade marks a particularly special year for the O’Leary family, who are celebrating 100 years in business in Millstreet, Co. Cork. Since first opening their doors in 1926, the shop has remained a proud family-run cornerstone of the local community. Today, Jerry and James O’Leary continue a tradition of craftsmanship passed down through generations.

At FIRE Steakhouse & Bar, Culinary Director Richie created a bespoke dish to showcase the award-winning ribeye, bringing his signature style and precision to this outstanding Irish beef. The limited edition “Guest Steak” special will be available for a celebratory period from the 17th of March, offering guests the opportunity to experience a true taste of Irish craft excellence.

“After being asked to run the Irish Steak Challenge with Irish Craft Butchers Association, FIRE is  delighted to be able to work with this year’s champions. Jerry O’Learly clearly shares the same passion for great beef as we do here in FIRE and this came through with this outstanding Hereford Rib Eye steak. Our amazing grill chefs prepared all the steaks for the challenge and our senior chefs took part in the judging process, all agreed that this was the right steak for us to feature during a week where the world celebrates all things Irish. I have paired this up with some of the most quintessentially Irish pairings. Boxty cake, a traditional Irish potato cake that would have been made in the mornings for those heading off to a hard days work. Guinness sauce, gives the perfect treacle like balance to the dish and of course the main ingredient of this sauce would make the perfect pairing to wash it all down.” – Culinary Director Richie

“We are just very grateful,” said Jerry O’Leary – O’Leary Family Butchers. “To be recognised at a national level during our centenary year is a lovely bonus, but our main priority has always been the people who walk through our door every morning. We share this win with our amazing staff – both past and present – local suppliers and our customers in Millstreet who have supported us since my family first opened the doors in 1926.”

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, there is no better time to celebrate the richness of Irish produce and the people behind it. At FIRE, the team is proud to champion homegrown excellence, bringing the very finest from Irish soil to the table.
