St Brigid’s Day will take over Bewley’s Grafton Street this weekend with an exciting programme of events to suit children and adults.
Parents of babies and toddlers can join a magical storytelling and nursery rhyme session celebrating springtime sunshine, flowers and sounds.
Led by Helena Byrne, Springtime Sunshine invites little ones to celebrate the warmth of spring – even in the depths of winter – through sensory-led storytelling and nursery rhymes.
Children and guardians will be guided on a joyful journey, exploring the flowers, colours, sights and sounds of spring, through stories, song and imaginative play.
The 45-minute sessions, which are aimed at children aged up to five years, will take place on Sunday at 10am and again at 11.30am and can be booked at eventbrite.ie at a cost of €17.
Meanwhile, adults can also tap into their creativity – and their childhood selves – by crafting traditional St Brigid’s crosses with artists Nicole Holbrook and Lainey Whelan.
“This workshop will guide attendees through the art of weaving these iconic crosses with easy-to-follow instructions,” said Nicole Holbrook, who is the visual storyteller and creative activations lead for Bewley’s Grafton Street.
“Whether you’re looking to connect with heritage or just want a creative afternoon, come along and make something special.
“Bring your friends or family and enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.”
The event will take place this Sunday from 1 -2.30 pm and tea or coffee is included in the ticket price of €27.79.
