Garage and R&B legend, Craig David, is named as the new Just Eat ambassador, starring in a new music-fuelled campaign for the on-demand delivery platform.
The unveiling sees Craig David, famous for global hits such as “7 Daysˮ, “Fill Me In’’, and most recently his #1 single, “Abracadabra” with Wes Nelson, put his own spin on the famous Just Eat track, transforming the tune into a garage and R&B inspired anthem that celebrates local neighbourhoods and communities across Ireland.
This is the first time talent closer to home has taken the mic, with Craig David following in the footsteps of global stars such as Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry, and Christina Aguilera and Latto. Blending his trademark smooth R&B vocals with the influence of UK garage, the song ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flava’ is a nod to Craig’s 2002 hit ‘What’s your Flava?’. The catchy track taps into the nostalgic sound of the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, paying homage to the golden era of R&B, while showcasing how Just Eat serves different communities.
With lines like ‘No chilli – it’s an SOS’ and ‘Nappies, coffee, rolls to go’, the tune gives a nod to relatable everyday moments, from date night cooking disasters to the playful last-minute chaos of family life, celebrating the huge range of products and dishes available on Just Eat from grocery to takeaway.
Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s bustling neighbourhoods, the campaign celebrates the people and places of Ireland, brought to life through Just Eat’s unique lens on customers’ local ordering habits. The new music video celebrates the rich diversity of flavours across Ireland, showing it truly understands and connects with all the customers it serves. This spirit carries through to the lyrics, with the punchy chorus ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flava’ repeated throughout.
From thatched cottages and lighthouses to sleek city flats and suburban semis, viewers follow Craig David as he tours six households, from a young couple with three babies enjoying a much-needed takeaway, to a man scrambling to replace a forgotten ingredient on date night, and a woman indulging in a relaxing bath surrounded by self-care treats. Whether it’s last-minute groceries or cosy night-in feasts and pamper essentials, the track is a vibrant reminder that Just Eat delivers for every moment life brings.
Craig David, Garage legend and new face of Just Eat, said: “Being the first artist to front this iconic campaign across the UK and Ireland, is a real honour. With over two decades of making music, I’ve seen how diverse and vibrant our communities are, and Did Somebody Say celebrates exactly that – from music to takeaways and corner shops, the everyday moments that bring us all together. Putting a proper garage and R&B spin on the Just Eat track has been special and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
Claire Pointon, Managing Director UK&I at Just Eat, said: “We’re excited to launch the first ever UK and Ireland edition of ‘Did Somebody Say…?’ with the legendary Craig David, a true icon whose music has shaped the nation’s soundtrack for decades. Together, we set out to create a campaign that celebrates the flavour and personality of our diverse neighbourhoods and customers, so people can watch the ad and see themselves reflected. At Just Eat, we’re proud to serve every side of the nation, from big cities to small towns, delivering to doorsteps across Ireland and the UK.”
Did Somebody Say 4.0 launches on Thursday, 4th September. Irish fans can now listen to Craig David’s garage inspired rendition of the track on TV and in cinemas nationwide.
