The Guinness Open Gate Brewery is Back – Dublin 8’s Experimental Tap Room Reopens with a Fresh New Look and Beer Menu

May 2024:  The Guinness Open Gate Brewery is back! Located at St. James’s Gate, in the heart of Dublin 8, this vibrant experimental taproom is a space dedicated to innovation and reinvention, with limited-edition small-batch beers brewed on-site and a new casual dining menu, crammed with local flavour.

The taproom is now open to the public following a complete refurbishment. The new-look Guinness Open Gate Brewery is home to a massively upgraded outdoor area with lots of space to enjoy a pint and great food with friends on a summers day. The inside space has also had an exciting update with a whole new fit-out and a window into the live brewing process which happens on the premises, bringing guests closer to the action.

So what’s on tap at the new Guinness Open Gate Brewery? The limited-edition, seasonal beer menu will change regularly throughout the year. The small-batch brews come directly from the on-site brewery and can’t be found anywhere else. Some of the first brews on tap will be theCrane St. Pale Ale, a Watermelon Spritz and an Irish Whiskey flavoured Stout. Of course, fans of the classics needn’t fear, there will also be a range of Guinness beers available on tap as well as spirits, soft drinks and non-alcoholic options.

There will also be a Tasting Paddle available, with a selection of delicious pints on offer to choose from. Enjoy alongside spicy wings, fresh baked pretzels, scampi and many more perfect pint accompaniments from the in-house food menu.

The live brewery is visible behind glass panelling, where you can sit back with a glass in hand and feel truly immersed the Open Gate Brewery brewing process like never before. Located on the site of St. James’s Gate, here you can see the Guinness brewers at their most innovative and experimental, given the opportunity to create truly unique and fun brews – the Guinness Open Gate brewers are given the creative license to dream in beer! A constantly changing beer roster means you will always be greeted by something new on our taps.

Outdoors is a big and bright beer garden, perfect for those sunny summer evenings where you can relax in the last rays of the day. Enjoy the murals both inside and outside the beer gardens walls, created by Holly Pereira, a long-time collaborator of the Open Gate Brewery.

Perfect for meeting up with friends after work in the sunny beer garden or trying out new experimental beers on the weekend, the Guinness Open Gate Brewery’s reopening kicks off the summer in Dublin 8.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery is open Thursday to Saturday, 1pm to 9pm.

About Guinness Open Gate Brewery:

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery is the latest in a line of current incarnation of Guinness experimental breweries going back to 1904. It’s where our brewers are charged with exploring new ideas in beer that we can share in small batches in our tap room. Beers selected for further development are brewed in greater volume in Brew House 4 at St. James’s Gate or in one of Guinness’s other breweries overseas. All Guinness innovations around the world are developed at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery.

Enjoy Guinness Sensibly.
