  • At our St Stephen’s Green restaurant, the atmosphere is one of easygoing conviviality.

This is a popular haunt for Dubliners dropping in for a relaxed brunch, or a dozen oysters and a glass of Champagne on their way to the theatre. The city’s business community also rely on the privacy of our intimate dining space.

Menus, which are available for brunch, lunch and dinner seven days a week, are overseen by CLIFF’s Executive Chef Martijn Kajuiter, who holds a Michelin Star at our sister property, Cliff House Hotel in County Waterford. Head Chef Sean Smith ensures every dish is perfect.

Serving brilliantly executed Dublin classics, the Cliff Townhouse restaurant menus are equally suited to a three-course celebration or a light bite in the middle of the day. Staples include generous salads, eggs Benedict, Galway oysters, Irish lobsters, dressed Yawl Bay crabs, wild sea trout and 10oz Hereford rib eye steaks.

By day our dining room is flooded with light from two tall sash windows. High ceilings and chandeliers add elegance, while on the wood-panelled, corniced walls there are Art Deco-style light sconces in antique silver. Large, brass-edged mirrors reflect the sunshine, while the parquet floor recalls the building’s Georgian past.

  • OUR RESTAURANT

Michael Sabik began his cooking career over 10 years ago with Chef Oliver Quennett (La Maison) and gained experience in the highly acclaimed Chapter One Restaurant. Continuing to deliver his experience, expertise and love of food he made his dream come true and opened Girl and the Goose restaurant.  He has created a warm relaxed dining experience, where anybody can come and enjoy fresh, Irish and French dishes. We work hard to ensure that every customer’s experience is a positive and memorable one.

    OUR FOOD

Dedicated to innovative and creative food, Michael and his team serve their dishes in an uncomplicated way that relies on freshness, taste and presentation. We are open early everyday and continue until late in the evening. With our food and service, we continually look to exceed our customers’ expectations. We cater for Brunch, Lunch, Dinner and Private dining, welcoming bookings and walk-ins. We even have a dedicated Kids corner so Mum and Dad can enjoy our food in peace.

    LOCATION

Girl and the Goose Restaurant is tucked between well known Crowe’s Pub and Mary Mac’s in the heart of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Our charming restaurant is situated on the first and second floor of 10 Merrion Road, We are overlooking Herbert Park Hotel and the Royal Dublin Society. We are 5 minuets walk from Landsdowne Rd Dart Station and Sandymount Dart Station. Free parking available after 6:30pm daily and Saturday, Sunday all day on Herbert Park Road.

THE STORY OF GIRL AND THE GOOSE RESTAURANT

“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my restaurant. I know the name is a little unusual, but there is a bit of story behind it. I wanted to dedicate this restaurant to my little daughter Lea, and we couldn’t find the right name until my friend Ruth came up with logo based on my daughter’s toy – a wooden goose. After few days we came up with the idea of combining Lea’s name and her toy and we came up with the name Lea’s Little Goose. Coincidently, same night I was enjoying my time with a great customer of mine Peter from our Terenure’s restaurant and I mentioned that to him. He pointed me directly to Brother’s Grimm fairy tale The Goose Girl – and that was it – ‘Girl and the Goose’ was born and I am more than happy to share my ‘dream came thru’ in connection with fairy tale – this could be our secret fairy tale.

In the Girl and the Goose, my goal was to create a relaxed home like experience where anybody can enjoy my homemade traditional Irish dishes. All my dishes are prepared on order by using both traditional and modern cooking techniques from locally sourced high-quality ingredients. In this menu you will find hearty Irish dishes, great to accompany you during your romantic night out, family get togethers or casual dining.

Our aim is to provide you with the high quality food and wine in a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere without any fuss. If you have any recommendations to improve our services, please let one of my team members know and I will make sure that we will work very hard on making this restaurant better and better.

Thank you for choosing my restaurant and I wish you an enjoyable and memorable evening. – Bon Appetite!”

Michael Sabik, Owner and Head Chef

  • There is nothing like The Garden Room in Dublin. In this city, it’s utterly unique.

As the now-famous Merrion grew, a courtyard garden appeared right in the very heart of the hotel. A formal garden, complete with fountain, overlooked by the drawing rooms and guestrooms on three sides and the blue skies above.

On the fourth side, to the east, we have created a light and airy space that opens onto the garden and becomes a part of it. This is The Garden Room.

From the beginning we wanted it to be a less formal affair. Somewhere to unwind and laugh with friends over a refreshingly cold bottle of rosé and a deliciously fresh seafood salad. A secret garden where you’ll find little groups of people who love each other’s company and others, dining alone, happy to enjoy a brief escape with just themselves. Weather permitting, we’ll open those great floor-to-ceiling glass doors to the garden terrace for true al fresco dining.

Our menus were all painstakingly designed by master head chef Ed Cooney.

His idea is to keep everything brilliantly simple. To not over-complicate anything but to help keep The Garden Room a relaxed, informal, sanctuary of sanity. The menus feature modern Irish food from artisan food producers and our wonderful natural harvest from land and sea.

  • The House

The Old Convent Country House is nestled at the foot of the Knockmealdown Mountains in beautiful County Tipperary - a unique destination for those seeking elegant accommodation, Irish artisan cuisine, refreshing walks in the picturesque countryside and a convenient location to explore local antiquities and natural amenities.

Stroll through the mature gardens and stop for a swing in the hammock, explore the Vee Gap with a scenic mountain drive or hill walk, relax by the fire with a cup of tea or curl up with a DVD or great book from our collection.

Hideaway from it all at The OC!

*The Old Convent is an Adult Only Destination*

    Past

The Convent was constructed in 1885 when the Sisters of Mercy were asked to take charge of Clogheen workhouse. It was the same year the sisters also began teaching in the local school.

When the workhouse system was abolished and the Clogheen workhouse closed, the Sisters continued to teach in the local school and work in the present St. Theresa’s hospital located in the only remaining building of the original workhouse complex. In 1991, the Mercy order decided to sell the Convent and build a lovely bungalow adjacent for the resident nuns, where they still reside to this day.

    Present

Dermot and Christine Gannon bought the building in 2005 with a vision to create a space where guests could relax and rejuvenate, while enjoying great food and the beautiful Tipperary countryside.

The Old Convent was born in July of 2006. The daily changing tasting menu was key to fulfilling their goal of using the freshest Irish artisan ingredients, served in the beautiful Chapel Dining Room.

    Dinner

Dermot’s daily changing 8 Course Irish Artisan Tasting Menu is served in The Chapel Dining Room at 8 pm. There is just one seating for dinner, so the table is yours to enjoy for the entire evening.

  • The world famous Shelbourne is a timeless landmark in the heart of Dublin.

Overlooking the magnificent St. Stephen's Green, it is only a few minutes walk from Dublin's most famous landmarks as well as the key shopping and cultural areas of the city. The connection to Ireland's capital runs far deeper than just location.

Founded in 1824, The Shelbourne is a place where history has been made, the Irish Constitution was drafted, literary masterpieces were penned and society was shaped. This outstanding hotel has been dramatically restored to its full original splendor in recent years. Take time to write your chapter in this iconic properties extensive history.

    The Saddle Room

The Saddle Room encompasses the cherished traditions of dining at The Shelbourne, developed over generations. Reassuringly timeless, with an atmosphere of grandeur and comfort, it strikes a balance between formality and relaxation. A lavish menu inspired by the classics and served with all the theatre and flourish of old-school Irish service.

A lavish cheese trolley. A pre-ordered roast of black leg chicken for two. A sumptuously traditional Beef Wellington carved table side. Dining in The Saddle Room is what The Shelbourne has always been designed with the guest's enjoyment first and foremost in mind.

Executive Head Chef Garry Hughes and his devoted team have created a series of seasonal menus which pay homage to the grand culinary history of The Shelbourne and celebrate the most spectacular and delicious local produce of Ireland.

Capable of seating up to twenty guests, The Saddle Room's private dining rooms offer all the comfort, style and old-world service of The Saddle Room but in an intimate and private setting.

    The Lord Mayor's Lounge

Luxurious, lovingly restored, and sparkling with light, Ireland's most historic drawing room looks out over the grandeur of St. Stephen's Green. From bright morning meetings and the cherished traditions of Afternoon Tea to dinner and drinks for residents late into the evening, The Lord Mayor's Lounge is a quietly opulent space designed for delight.

    No. 27 Bar & Lounge

The social capital of the Irish capital and the beating heart of the hotel, where Dublin society gathers to raise a glass and raise their spirits. Sparkling cocktails and precise pints served with style. A menu of elevated bar classics and fresh Irish seafood served with casual elegance. No.27 Bar & Lounge is the place to see and be seen.

    The Horseshoe Bar

A distinctive Dublin treasure. A warm and intimate bar for a perfect pint of plain, a beloved local whiskey or a well-built martini. The atmospheric Horseshoe Bar is a destination, an institution and a living history of Irish society. Hosting Ireland's most fascinating characters since 1957.

    1824 Bar

If The Shelbourne itself had a snug, this might just be it. A luxe, intimate, and sophisticated atmosphere with low lights, rich wood panelling, and a host with the arcane knowledge to navigate 1824's vast hand-picked list of top-shelf whiskey, Champagne, wine, and premium cocktails.

    The Terrace

A hidden, unexpected and enchanting open-air space within the hotel which blurs the distinction between indoors and out. The Terrace is sheltered from the elements but open to the sky, with broad canopies, heaters, and an open fireplace to extend the season. A fine wine list and sharing platters featuring exceptional Irish ingredients.

  • Housed in a charming stone cottage which dates in part from 1700, The Washerwoman is a neighbourhood restaurant but perfect for a special occasion or a casual dining experience.
Located only a few minutes walk from The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin Cemetery Museum & Tours and Glasnevin Trust Walking Tours.
Given the locale and the fact that we welcome families, there are exciting, healthy and accessible foods for kids (plus some little quirks to keep them interested, engaged and most importantly, occupied!), a host of diner classics, and a particularly extensive steak selection. We are working with some of our favourite craft butchers to create our own aging room and source some amazing salt-aged meats.
Brunch and Sunday roast at The Washerwoman has become a northside institution. Weekday mornings and lunchtimes, take advantage of our in-house Woollen Mills bakery delights, re-creating some of those tasty Mills sandwiches to eat-in or take-out, and creating a hub for the local community to meet, drink, eat and be merry!

  • When The Winding Stair opened its door, as a restaurant, in August 2006, Dubliners flocked to see what all the fuss was about. Here was a restaurant serving simple, homecooked and most importantly all Irish food in a little room overlooking the river Liffey.

A gastro-pub style of cuisine but using only seasonal Irish produce where possible and an army of well-trained friendly staff who were ready to explain this ethos to the diners. The room itself is always buzzing.

The venue had occupied a special place in Dubliner’s hearts, having been a famous landmark bookshop and café for many years and photographs of its famous visitors line the entrance to the bathrooms.

For a truly urban view over the river Liffey and the finest examples of Irish produce treated with care and respect, there is no better place than the quirky Winding Stair. It’s always busy so book early to avoid disappointment!

  •  The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. To this end, we hope that The Woollen Mills be quintessentially Irish, local and of its locale.
We want it to be an 'Eating House', a house of food, a place to grab a serious coffee and bun, a serious plate of Irish ham and chips, a place to take home a box of salads and scones, sourdough and sausage rolls, or sit with seven courses of anchovies and crab and herrings and pork and beef rib, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge and Liffey with a fine bottle of red. Or a craft beer!
The building is over four floors and is (almost) literally on top of the bridge, with double aspect windows and a roof terrace onto the ultimate Dublin cityscape. It is truly magical and so so special. We have our own bakery and will have a large retail and take-out emphasis, so passing folk can buy our breads, pastries and cakes, as well as choose from a huge sandwich and salad selection during the day. If you sit long enough, you will see at least one person you know!
