  • This multi-award winning Village is sure to have exactly what you need. Ideally located in a picturesque Wicklow Valley just 1 hour from South Dublin, it is the perfect spot for a get away from it all break. Country house style and state-of-the-art facilities combine to deliver a unique experience.

Relax at The Wells Spa, a designated ‘Resort Spa’. Dine at The Strawberry Tree, Ireland’s first certified Organic restaurant, or La Taverna Armento, a Southern Italian style bistro.

Macreddin Village is also home to Macreddin Golf Course, designed by European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley, Actons Country Pub & Orchard Café, an Organic Bakery, Macreddin Smokehouse and much, much more.

    Celebrated 30 Years, 1988 - 2018

The multi-award winning Strawberry Tree Restaurant is Ireland’s first certified Organic Restaurant. Diners at The Strawberry Tree have the option of both a 5 course Dinner Menu and a 9 course Tasting Menu with both menus showcasing Wild & Organic Foods that have been expertly prepared by The Strawberry Tree Brigade.

The innovative cuisine is matched by the dramatic surroundings, which includes a walk-in Wild Foods Pantry, featuring much of the produce foraged and prepared by our crew, as well as a selection of meats, cured in our own Smoke House and great Irish cheeses.

The Big Table Experience at The Strawberry Tree

The Big Table provides a unique group dining opportunity for The Strawberry Tree Brigade to prepare Foods and a Menu that simply cannot be served in a normal restaurant setting, presented on a single table that can stretch from 8 to 44 people.

Commencing with a simple pre-starter, all the food then arrives together to The Big Table in the style of a Feast and is presented on platters in the centre of the table for guests to pick and choose, mix and match as they wish. Guests are encouraged to help serve the person on both sides of them, helping to add to the conviviality and atmosphere of the table.

After enjoying The Strawberry Tree dessert plate, guests can help themselves to some wonderful Organic Cheeses, which are kept at perfect temperature in our Wild Foods Pantry.

Even the menu is presented in a different style in that rather than the recipe been highlighted, it is the supplier, farmer or artisan producer that is named and acknowledged.

Macreddin Village is known as the Food Village and it's easy to see why. With a variety of venues onsite offering free range, organic and wild food options, you can savour great food in sublime settings.

The person behind this food philosophy is Evan Doyle. Evan is a member of Euro-toques and has hosted the National Food Forum for many years. He has been strongly connected with The Slow Food Movement in Ireland.

  • Where it began...
Farmer Browns was set up in 2012 by Limerick sisters Grace and Finnuala Caffrey. With a passion for food and hospitality embedded in their DNA, they started out with a handful of tables and buckets full of ambition. Now celebrating 10 successful years in business, Farmer Browns continues to grow while committing to keeping their menus seasonal.
Using only lthe best ocal suppliers and producers available to them and looking to food trends for inspiration to ensure their menus are fresh and relevant - these sisters know how to put on a spread!

Today, Farmer Browns is best known for its wholesome menu options, large portions, and tasty and vibrant combinations all while fully catering to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets, and did we mention children eat free off peak?!

Must See... Farmer Browns opened its first restaurant on Bath Avenue in 2012, an exciting new tech corner of the city. Starting out serving homemade cakes and treats, their stellar offering and popularity gave the sisters the confidence to expand their menu to serving early breakfasts, quick lunches and award-winning brunch (LovinDublin). This once tea cafe soon became the perfect neighbourhood eatery and a firm favourite with the locals. Midweek breakfast is served from 8am - 3pm and at weekends all-day brunch is served from 9am - 4pm. We recommend booking or be ready to join their quickly moving waitlist. Otherwise, why not grab & go with their full menu available to take away.

The menus here have all your favourites; from pancakes, eggs all ways, soups, sharing plates, sandwiches and a wide variety of freshly baked pastries. With a menu influenced by Irish-American-Mexican cuisine, you'll find international flavours with Turkish eggs accompanied by homemade garlic flatbreads, eggs benedict or crunchy nutty granola with vegan yoghurt and fresh berries and acai bowls.

The creativity and love on each plate will have you coming back time and time again. Check out their daily specials and midweek lunch combos on instagram @farmerbrownsdublin

Growing... A few years later, Farmer Browns opened its second restaurant in Rathmines. Flowing out onto the hustle and bustle of the trendy neighbourhood, this was a larger space, boasting a beautiful south-facing outdoor terrace serving delicious cocktails and brunch in the sun as well as the perfect date spot on colder days with soft blankets, heaters and luxe cushions. Newly renovated, the interior is something of eclectic and vintage dreams, coupled with an ever-growing cocktail list and wholesome seasonal menus. The menu here has something for everyone; with brunch daily from 10am, dinner from 5pm and mid-week lunch deals you cannot beat - this little city gem must be on your foodie list! Pint anyone...? In 2018, Farmer Browns moved into the pub scene along with their signature seasonal menus.

Now boasting two Gastro-pubs located in South Dublin suburbs, Kilternan & Clonskeagh, Farmer Browns Pubs are a hot spot with locals, students and the after-work crew. With more great food, south-facing sun terraces and convenient locations, Farmer Browns Pubs are the ideal spot to go for those fun cocktail days, dancing on a Saturday night or lazy brunch with the gals at the weekend! Hosting all types of parties, events and celebrations get in touch and they will be happy to create a catered package just for you!

  • Situated in the centre of Athlone, just a minute or two’s walk from the bank of the River Shannon, when you walk through the doors of Gertie Browne’s, you immediately get a sense that you are welcome. That won’t come as a surprise to anyone who is familiar with the history of this establishment however as, from as early as the 10th or 11th centuries, Gertie Browne’s has been a hostelry of some sort.

The pub itself dates back over 1,000 years, initially acting as a resting point for those travelling west while also providing them with a place to house their horse-drawn carriages for the night. Nowadays, you’ll more often than not find a mixture of Athlonians perched at the old world style bar enjoying a drink or a bite to eat in our comfortable and familiar surroundings while exchanging some of the local gossip with our friendly staff behind the bar.

As you make your way through our deceptively long tavern, you’ll no doubt notice the curious tourists who have wandered in to study and admire the various bric-a-brac that decorates our walls from top to bottom as well as to try a pint of, what is rumoured to be, some of the best Guinness in Athlone. Tongue and groove walls, antique pitch pine counters and genuine salvaged memorabilia all help give our emporium that relaxed and pleasant atmosphere we are known for. You’ll even find an open fire featured in the front bar during the colder months.

Also known to locals as the ideal location to meet for a hearty meal, the focus at Gertie Browne’s is on no-nonsense, high quality food and drinks. Featuring a mixture of old school pub grub classics, the bar food comes from the same kitchen as Hatters’ Lane Bistro kitchen next door, which means every bit of love that goes into the plate there is to be found here at Gertie Browne’s as well. Our food is served Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 9pm, Fridays from 3pm to 7pm on, as well as Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from 12pm to 7pm on. The menu is available to view here.

It’s always our aim here at Gertie Browne’s to ensure that each customer is welcomed and made feel at home with a good drink which is both properly presented and delicious. We offer a wide selection of beers which are available in bottles or on draught along with a variety of house wines. Our shelves are filled with a wide selection of both local and international spirits and customers can choose from an extensive list of 40+ gins and whiskeys and the staff behind the bar are always happy to advise those who are unsure of what to choose.

Our private library room, located in the back of the building, can accommodate up to 40+ people, making Gertie Browne's the ideal location to host special occasions or gatherings of all shapes and sizes. We often cater for a variety of options for groups including birthday parties, day after wedding parties, christenings, as well as corporate events and our fantastic team from the kitchen at Hatters' Lane Bistro are always on hand to provide our guests with catering for your party should you so desire.

  • VISIT LINNANE'S

Linnane’s Lobster Bar is located in the heart of the Burren, County Clare. Take in the fantastic views of Aughinish & Galway Bay while surrounded by sea and limestone landscape. Watch as boats come and go from the Pier at New Quay, fishing for the shellfish that can be served straight to your table. Built over 300 years ago to function as a post office and public house the building has remained at the centre of the New Quay community for generations. In recent years an extension was built onto the back opening up some wonderful views of the bay.

    DINE WITH US

When visiting the Burren, Linnane’s Lobster Bar is a must for lunch or dinner. We serve food with an emphasis on fresh local produce, sourcing from within the Burren where possible. We are known for our seafood but we cater for all tastes. Eat on the terrace during the Summer while the sun is shining and watch the boats come and go or come inside and cosy up beside the fire when Winter sets in. Whatever the weather, a trip to the Burren is not complete without a visit to Linnane’s.

    THE FLAGGY SHORE

The Flaggy Shore, located a short walk from Linnane’s is one of nine sites of geological importance that forms the basis of the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher (UNESCO Global Geopark). Famous for its limestone pavements, fossils embedded in the rock, including sculptured rocks along the shore called ‘biokarst’. A paved road runs along the shore making it ideal for walkers of all ability and age. The Flaggy Shore is an ideal place to find clues about where the ancient ice sheets came – and in what direction the glaciers moved. The clues can be found by looking at the rocks along the shore and identifying the odd one out. Most of the cobbles and boulders along the shore are grey limestone rocks, but some are glacial erratics of other rock types, such as granite or sandstone.

  • Morrissey's is an award winning 4th Generation Family run bar and restaurant located in the heart of Doonbeg Village overlooking the Doonbeg River

We offer an extensive Seafood and Grill menu with locally caught fish and produced meats and vegetables. Morrissey's decor is a mix of traditional and contemporary giving the customer a relaxed and informal setting with views of Doonbeg river and Castle.

We also have 6 spacious guest rooms. All rooms are ensuite with flat screen TV, Music systems and most importantly handbuilt super king size beds.

"This attractive family-run bar in Doonbeg village has upped the ante over the last couple of years and it is now run by the energetic Hugh McNally. While retaining some of the charm of the old bar, he has given this lively seafood bar & grill a refreshing new look, with an extension on to the River Cree and a lovely decking area overlooking the river, which has brought excellent views and light to the dining room.

The interior is all darkwood floors, cream walls and burgundy leather, a nice contrast to a collection of paintings and photographs, both new and old, of the village and local coastline.

Simply presented menus are just the right length with dishes such as seafood chowder, Carrigaholt crab claws and Atlantic jumbo prawns for starters along with main fish courses such as home-made scampi sauce or fresh fillet of salmon with warm baby potato salad.

Main offerings from the grill include an Angus sirloin steak, whilst in winter, specialities include roasted monkfish and meat casseroles. Cooking is good, and well-trained staff are friendly and efficient."

  • TRADITIONAL IRISH PUB IN THE HEART OF DUBLIN

O’Connell Street has often been centre-stage in Irish history. Previously known Sackville Street, it formed the backdrop to the great 1913 Dublin Lockout gathering, the 1916 Easter Rising, the Irish Civil War of 1922 and the destruction of Nelson’s Pillar in 1966.

Here at Murray’s we have been serving the people of Dublin for over 100 years. Best of all, Grandma Murray’s descendants still run the pub to this day!

  • Traditional Irish bar & seafood restaurant in the heart of Howth village

     Great Music~Great Food~ Great Craic

A warm and welcoming interior with an old-fashioned feel, an open turf-burning fireplace, classic signage and interesting bric-a-brac stirring memories of a bygone age… these are just some of the features of “The Bloody Stream”, one of North Dublin’s most atmospheric and popular bars, where the byword is hospitality. Add to this the Mediterranean-style beer garden, live music every weekend and an extensive menu of fresh seafood and other delicacies and you have a special venue indeed.

Located just below the Howth DART station, its live music and late night bar create a real party atmosphere that’s proven a major attraction for locals as well as those travelling from Dublin city centre. In the heart of the picturesque town of Howth and its impressive harbour, The Bloody Stream has plenty of parking nearby and is especially popular among tour groups. It’s the perfect spot for those looking for great food and drink in pleasant surroundings, with that indefinable “craic” usually in evidence for good measure!

Whether you’re a fan of traditional Irish, Jazz, Blues or mainstream popular music The Bloody Stream always has something different to offer, and its beer garden is the perfect place for a summer afternoon’s listening to good sounds and enjoying a drink. The Bloody Stream caters for tour groups visiting Howth, private and corporate parties, and all social and sporting events.

    History of The Bloody Stream

The Bloody Stream is named in honour of The Bloody Stream over which it is built. In August 1177, during the second Norman invasion, a heavy battle took place near here between the forces of Sir Almeric Tristram (said to have been a descendent of one of the knights of King Arthur’s Round Table and whom took over command from Sir John de Courcy on the expedition’s arrival at Howth, who was unable to leave his ship) and the Danes, who were occupying Evora Bridge at that time. Inevitably the fighting produced blood, some of which found its way into the little stream that has been known as “The Bloody Stream” ever since.
