    "Sandymount is actually an inspired choice as besides being one of the most desirable places to live in the country thanks to its proximity to the beach and the city, it retains a self contained sleepy air, helped by the fact that it is not a place people drive through like Ranelagh or Rathmines.

    BuJo is a long diner style restaurant with booths, stools and chairs and attracts a young crowd so inevitably the music on the tannoy was upbeat dance music, ‘techno-lite’ would be my best attempt at a definition but surprisingly I barely noticed as the sound of happy diners all around faded the muzac into the background.

    There are no waiters in BuJo so once you have placed your order at the counter you take a seat with a nifty little electronic device that buzzes and bounces around the table to alert you when your order is ready.

    The standard BuJo burger costs €8 and is thankfully a rather joyously simple affair with two beef patties, cheese, pickles, BuJo sauce in a brioche bun with the option to add tomatoes, extra cheese or bacon. The bread holds, the meat is beefy and juicy with just enough texture, the fillings are balanced and well judged.

    The summer special Piquanté Burger (€10) with Cooleeney farm Tipperary Brie, charred baby gem lettuce, beechwood smoked rare breed bacon, Sriracha Mayonnaise, and Piquanté cherry peppers was arguably even better with just enough spice and a big punch of added character from the bacon to elevate it further.

    Best of all was how the Piquanté matched with the seasonal beer — a Ranchero Smoked Ale from Wicklow Wolf.

    Malted barley for the beer was smoked over beechwood giving the beer a distinct smoky bacon flavour balanced with a rich maltiness and good balance from the hops.

    Staff were cheery and pleasant and the atmosphere is enjoyable and convivial and the burgers are excellent, every suburb should have a BuJo."

  • Circa is a Michelin Bib Gourmand Awarded Neighborhood Restaurant

    "... it is run by four young people who put up their own money and have paid proper attention to suppliers and all the elements that make a good restaurant — even down to the excellent (and relatively unobtrusive) hip-hop soundtrack. 

    There is a quiet confidence in these guys, all of whom have been in the restaurant trade for a while, and only a misanthrope would not want them to thrive....

    While some of the descriptions sound complex, in fact chef Gareth Naughton shows admirable restraint in his cooking, allowing his (very) well-sourced ingredients to speak for themselves. 

    Tender Wicklow lamb rump was served rare and allowed to work its own magic with some mousseline potato and asparagus and a light gravy — three elements in a dish that added up to so much more than its parts. 

    A lightly cooked piece of brill came with seaweed butter and dill flavours and a generous portion of smoked mussels.

    At this point we were delighted with our meal and I was contemplating a relatively rare 9/10, and the rather triumphal desserts sealed it. 

    A kaffir lime parfait came with sheets of white chocolate and a wondrously intense passionfruit and mango mousse, my mouth zinged with flavour.

    Just as brilliantly executed was a silky chocolate cremeaux which was topped with discs of nutty and densely flavoured peanut praline and a delicious salted banana ice cream.

    This is some of the most generous and intelligent cooking in Dublin right now, generous portions of good ingredients, generously flavoured and judiciously conceived and plated.

    Circa is brimming with creativity, youth, and energy, and if this is what they are doing after just five nights, their future is very bright."

    Very proper. The food hall at Fallon & Byrne stocks the best of everything, and that’s all. Just-caught fish, well-hung meat, mighty coffee, sinful cakes, fine artisan foods of every kind, the freshest of fruit and vegetables.

    Who said stocking shelves was easy? It shouldn’t be. We spent years editing our food collection and we’re constantly updating it because, let’s face it, not every jar that glitters is gold. And the tasty result of all of this hard work (somebody’s got to do it)? More than 3,000 bottles and jars of natural delectables, some old chestnuts, others new finds. All products we love, priced at points we hope you’ll find fair.

    Farmer Browns was set up in 2012 by Limerick sisters Grace and Finnuala Caffrey. With a passion for food and hospitality embedded in their DNA, they started out with a handful of tables and buckets full of ambition. Now celebrating 10 successful years in business, Farmer Browns continues to grow while committing to keeping their menus seasonal.
    Using only lthe best ocal suppliers and producers available to them and looking to food trends for inspiration to ensure their menus are fresh and relevant - these sisters know how to put on a spread!

    Must See... Farmer Browns opened its first restaurant on Bath Avenue in 2012, an exciting new tech corner of the city. Starting out serving homemade cakes and treats, their stellar offering and popularity gave the sisters the confidence to expand their menu to serving early breakfasts, quick lunches and award-winning brunch (LovinDublin). This once tea cafe soon became the perfect neighbourhood eatery and a firm favourite with the locals. Midweek breakfast is served from 8am - 3pm and at weekends all-day brunch is served from 9am - 4pm. We recommend booking or be ready to join their quickly moving waitlist.     The menus here have all your favourites; from pancakes, eggs all ways, soups, sharing plates, sandwiches and a wide variety of freshly baked pastries. With a menu influenced by Irish-American-Mexican cuisine, you'll find international flavours with Turkish eggs accompanied by homemade garlic flatbreads, eggs benedict or crunchy nutty granola with vegan yoghurt and fresh berries and acai bowls.

    Growing... A few years later, Farmer Browns opened its second restaurant in Rathmines. Flowing out onto the hustle and bustle of the trendy neighbourhood, this was a larger space, boasting a beautiful south-facing outdoor terrace serving delicious cocktails and brunch in the sun as well as the perfect date spot on colder days with soft blankets, heaters and luxe cushions. Newly renovated, the interior is something of eclectic and vintage dreams, coupled with an ever-growing cocktail list and wholesome seasonal menus. The menu here has something for everyone; with brunch daily from 10am, dinner from 5pm and mid-week lunch deals you cannot beat - this little city gem must be on your foodie list! Pint anyone...?     Lorraine Heskin is Founder and CEO of Gourmet Food Parlour. Lorraine looks after the operational and day to day running of the business. Lorraine has grown GFP into a very successful business employing over 300 people across its 10 locations.

  • Hampton’s Bar Bistro offers a comfortable and casual dining experience in a cool, funky environment.

    The lunch and dinner menus have been created to give flexibility to diners to build and add to their choice of dish as their personal preferences dictate.   • ITSA celebrates its 20th year in business this year!  

    We started this company in one tiny little premises on Lower Liffey Street and from there, the company has grown to encompass five brands over 12 locations.

     ITSA is where it all started and things have changed a lot over the years. We used to import our bagels from H&H in New York, but nowadays we work with wonderful suppliers such as McCloskey's Bakery on the East Coast of Ireland who has been in business for 70 years, along with Wicklow Brie and O'Neil's dry cure bacon.

    We are also delighted to be working with Silverskin Coffee and will continue to invest in new equipment and lots of training with Brian and the team in Silverskin. We still make all the fillings, sauces, soups and goodies in our kitchens in Sandyford. We have also changed all our soups so that they can be enjoyed by vegans. 

    ITSA Dun Laoghaire has lovely outdoor seating and is perfect for a delicious coffee and bagel after a stroll on the pier, with a full bagel menu, plus award winning soups and many gluten free & vegetarian options.

    ITSA Arnotts is located at the Abbey Street entrance to the hugely popular Arnotts Department Store in Dublin city centre.     "Keshk is remarkable in a number of ways but lets take wine first. You bring your own wine or beer and they don’t even charge you for the service of opening it, pouring it into the rather attractive wine glasses provided, washing them up afterwards and recycling the bottle.

    The food here is, broadly speaking, that of north African and the Eastern Med, apart of the world that is, for religious reasons, largely for teetotal.. It is also the kind of food that appeals to something very deep inside me: Its a sunny kind of food, with lots of garlic, lemon, cumin, lamb grilled over charcoal, flat breads. olive oil…. I suspect you will understand what I’m getting at.

    Keshk is a gem. Most of the menu is as simple as it gets, good raw materials cooked in a way that goes back centuries, a reminder that you can eat very well indeed without spending a fortune- The bill came to a very reasonable €59.70- and, in the poor excuse for the summer, a reminder also, of the food of the sunnier places."

    "Le Pastis" is not a stiff fine dining - restaurant, we are fun dining. Restaurant "Le Pastis" was established in 2016 and located in the heart of Blackrock Village of Dublin. We have a simple mission: to offer our guests classic & delicious European dishes with French twist.

    We use only high-quality seasonal ingredients coming from the best Irish and international producers. The menu varies daily, because we only want to use the freshest ingredients available. In terms of the atmosphere at "Le Pastis", we want to make our guests feel like they are dining in Paris. The classic, relaxed feeling of a French bistro is our trademark alongside with friendly & proffesional service. 

    Executive Chef Nick Gonte is all long-term professionals who founded a successful bistro Brasserie Eira in Helsinki in 2012.  In 2014, the guide Eat Helsinki chose him among the top ten that year. 

    Every course also deserves a perfect glass of wine. Our team is constantly working on making a great wine list, which offers wide range of wines from different prices and areas. Our wines always have a story, an interesting personality with is just simply works out well with the menu. Naturally, we are focused on France, but we strive to offer wines from other countries too.

  • We are reopening for outdoor dining in our Dundrum and Millennium Walk locations from the 7th of June! No bookings needed just rock in and Get Laid. We can't wait to have you all back in our restaurants!

    We take our chicken very seriously, it’s what we are all about! So we only use free-range birds hatched locally in a family-run farm. We tea brine for 48 hours to make them super tender and juicy. We then double dredge the Birds in spiked buttermilk and coat in our-house seasoned mix for that signature crunch. The end result is the best damn chicken you have ever tasted!

    The chicken may have come first but the Bun is just as important to us! We use a soffft AF Amish roll from the legends in Coughlan’s bakery to hold down our Birds. The fluffy texture is perfect against the crunch of our chicken. Grab on and dig in.

    We’ve put a huge amount of research and time into making our food awesome for you guys and our booze pairings are no different. We have chosen each beer option specifically to match one of the distinct flavour profiles on offer. We’ve also partnered with the guys in Hope Brewery to bring you our own hybrid house brew; Mad Yoke. The perfect partner for a chicken dinner!

  • The "dream" began with the desire to bring pizza perfection from Italy to Ireland to satisfy the increasingly discerning palates of Irish customers. In 1995 the dream turned into reality with the opening of the first Milano restaurant in Dawson Street, Dublin.

    Dublin had never experienced such pizza perfection before! The first Milano soon became a favourite due to its relaxed and sociable atmosphere as well as for its fabulous pizzas and salads. The restaurant was frequently mentioned as a favourite meeting place of several modern Irish writers and artists.

    The demand for pizza perfection grew and Milano restaurants, each with their own distinctive personalities and styles, opened in Temple Bar, Cork, Galway, Limerick, at the IFSC in Dublin, Dundrum new town centre and at Grand Canal Harbour.

    New Milano restaurants have been springing up for the last few years. The most recent Milanos have opened at Haddington Road and Ranelagh in Dublin, as well as in Ennis and Killarney. These are set to become firm favourites with local workers and residents as well as tourists.

  • Tom’s Table @ the Red Cow Moran Hotel

    Every detail of the design of this new restaurant has been carefully thought-out. The centrepiece is a family kitchen table and this sets the tone for the whole restaurant: It’s all about conversation, family values, laughter, good food, setting the world to rights and just great fun.

    The Red Cow Moran Hotel is a family owned hotel. The founder, Tom Moran, comes from a large family and in his home the kitchen table has always been at the very heart of family life. That table, in his home, inspired this table, in this restaurant and that’s why it is called Tom’s Table. In fact, the original table still sits today in Tom’s family home in Athea, West Limerick. He built it himself as a young apprentice carpenter and to him it represents family, tradition, comfort, community and the pleasures of sharing a good meal and great memories.

    The focus from head chef Brian McCarthy and his team is on providing great food sourced as locally as possible with a particular emphasis, fittingly for the Red Cow, on excellent steaks with a signature ‘Bull’ Hayes Irish Hereford ribeye from Limerick just like the great man himself. The menus reflect this open, honest, wholesome, natural family way too. So you’ll find steaks, chicken, salmon, duck, pork, shellfish and seafood, all sourced from producers all over Ireland, known and trusted suppliers. Everything used is seasonal, locally produced and fresh, prepared by hand and cooked to order.

    Bright, warm and atmospheric, the materials, wall treatments and finishes used throughout Tom’s Table pay gentle respect to the countryside origins of the hotel owner. Using simple painted brick, classic terracotta and mosaic tiles, along with aged leather and polished wood, there is a sense of the patina of history despite this being a fresh new restaurant concept.

    The bright and comfortable space, flooded with light from floor to ceiling windows on two sides, has cosy booths, banquettes and upholstered chairs in rich-toned leather. Comfort and style are equally important, and the room is beautifully lit with golden pools of light from the feature pendant lamps reflected and multiplied by the mirror panels behind the banquettes.
