    Cliff at Lyons is a privately owned luxury hotel occupying an unusual collection of historic rose-clad buildings, including a mill and former dovecote, in rural Kildare a 30-minute drive from Dublin. This is a hotel and country retreat with 38 bedrooms spread out across rooms, apartments and cottages.

    Cliff at Lyons is home to two-Michelin star restaurant Aimsir and the multi-award-winning The Well in The Garden spa.

    The two-Michelin star restaurant Aimsir is led by Cornwall-born chef Jordan Bailey, former head chef at three-star Michelin Maaemo in Oslo. An all-island restaurant, the best producers and growers from all over Ireland have been invited to be part of this new celebration of the most powerful, significant and influential force in this country – the weather.

    Aimsir Lounge Here you can snack on set plates of garden treats, house made breads or crackers and charcuterie with foraged pickles and preserves and excellent Irish Cheese. Open Wed – Sat 3:00pm to late.



    The Pantry is open for light summer salads, sandwiches, sweet and savoury delights, delicious coffees and refreshing beverages  from 9:30am Wednesday – Sunday perfect for when you are on the go.

    Join Chef Sean Smith in Trellis for delicious country classics Wednesday to Sunday from 12:30pm. Indulge in mouth watering Rib-eye steaks, Monkfish on the Bone and Crème Brûlée.

    Or perhaps spend an evening in The Orangery with delicious charcuterie and cheese boards, wine from our cellar or a classic cocktail.

    Our award-winning restaurant at Cliff House Hotel, Ireland, attracts foodies from all over the world to this seaside village in West Waterford. Both our main House Restaurant as well as our  Bar Restaurant honour the great produce of Waterford, Cork, and the Irish Sea.

    House Restaurant operates for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday all year around, with exceptions on weeks with bank holidays. Bar Restaurant is open every day for dining from lunchtime.



    The Well in the Garden is a luxury award-winning spa set in the beautifully restored Carriage House building. Signature spa treatments include our CLIFF Swedish Massage, Warm Bamboo Massage and CLIFF Body Care.     With 38 rooms spread out in eight separate lock yard buildings and cottages, Cliff at Lyons is ideal for exclusive-use events, from corporate meetings to team-building exercises. It is also perfect for weddings. Our sprawling, open lawns accommodate parties of up to 120 people without a sense of crowding, whilst enclosed gardens and intimate spaces dotted across the estate are ideal for smaller groups. The 22 seat San Pedro chapel is a particularly picturesque setting for a wedding blessing. Our chefs can cater for a diverse range of tastes and preferences among large groups.

  • Welcome to Burtown, an Artists' Garden & our Green Barn Restaurant, Cafe & Shop near Athy in Co. Kildare

    The Green Barn is located just inside the front gates of Burtown House, set in the front parkland overlooking our walled kitchen garden. It is easily accessible as a quick lunch stop, or for a more relaxed luncheon style affair or for dinner on Saturday night.

    Based on old style Scandinavian barns with a New England twist, The Green Barn combines high ceilings and rustic textures with individual table settings, giant branches, flowers from the garden and potted vegetables on all the tables. The restaurant opens out onto an exterior terrace, and again into a series of courtyard spaces that each tell a different story and create a different ambience. We love to host weddings, private parties, christenings, communions and any worthy occasion!

    We have an eclectic range of interior accessories, books, paintings, sculpture, prints, books and cards. Our stock is ever changing and much of what you see in The Green Barn is available to buy or order. We make a variety of chunky authentic kitchen tables many of which can be viewed here. Lights, chairs, cutlery and much more...

    Recently opened is Jo’s pantry, our new cheese deli & artisan food shop, with homemade pestos, freshly baked breads, preserves, delicious olives, Jamon & salamis and much more. We have also made a little café here with more informal seating where you can order antipasto boards, and open sandwiches with its own outdoor seating area, for those looking for a more casual dining experience.


    Head grower Dermot Carey overseas our production of fresh produce, working closely with us here at The Green Barn to ensure a constant supply of varied seasonal produce with a walled kitchen garden, 4 acre field plot and a couple of polly tunnels. We raise our own Dexter cattle ensuring slow maturing, excellent tasting beef which is highly desired by restaurant owners and food enthusiasts.

    Our delicious fresh produce is now available to take home at Jo’s Pantry. We are almost 100 % self sufficient and use sustainable methods for all our food production and serve only the freshest possible seasonal produce that has almost always come straight from our kitchen garden that very morning.

    Serving what we love to eat - honest, unfussy, unpretentious food, letting our produce be the strength in what you eat. We like to combine seasonal ingredients, using flavours, textures, and colours and to experiment all the time, hence offering changing menus that reflect what is happening in our garden.
