A new eatery hits Cabra brings a taste of Rome to Dublin 7

Nero XVII has opened its doors in Cabra, bringing a new warm and cosy offering to the neighbourhood. The menu includes pasta and pizzas, to steak, venison and chicken – alongside a host of tasty starters and tempting desserts with a great wine list. Nero XVII wants to become known as the home of classic family favourites; carbonara, meatballs, venison ragu, tiramisu and more.

The latest addition to the Dublin food scene is located on the Cabra Road in the shopping area. Its vegan and gluten free options, location and price point makes it the perfect place to go anytime for dinner or a catch up with friends. Nero XVII is from restaurateur & chef Kristan Burness, a familiar face on the Dublin restaurant scene. Kristan was involved in setting up locations like Di Luca, Brasserie le Pont, stylish gastro pub Dalkey Duck and an Italian venture of his own – Fiorentina. Nero XVII is the newest addition to his portfolio of popular venues.

Kristan is very excited to bring this new, family friendly offering to Cabra. He is passionate about simple, authentic food made with the best ingredients. Nero XVII only use the finest san mazano tomatoes and fior di latte mozzarella on their pizzas, they only make their carbonara the authentic Italian way without using any cream, and they serve decadent gastro style treats like their truffle, aioli and parmesan fries.

Speaking about his new venture Burness said “I’ve always loved Italian food, but so often you don’t get the best Italian. I really wanted to create somewhere that focuses on the most important things – the best ingredients, cooked authentically, at a really affordable price point. I love Italian classics like carbonara made fresh with bacon and egg on fresh linguine, a simple pizza topped with the creamiest mozzarella and juiciest tomatoes. We want Nero XVII to be known for the best Italian and Gastro style food – and somewhere you can afford to become a regular.”
