The Rising Sun Tavern at The Garrandarragh, originally known as ‘The Rising Sun Ale House’, was built in 1644 during the Cromwellian era. The old world charm of stone and timber work throughout the building sets the tone of comfort and relaxation. From the time you park your car in the spacious private car park and enter the lounge you are greeted by friendly and helpful staff and of course the heart of a real Irish country welcome is the magnificent open fireplace or traditional stove. You can then relax beside either with a pint or enjoy some of our home cooked cuisine. This re-creation is a work of art with its wind-up bellows so you can stoke up the fire while relaxing with a fine beverage from one of the three bars or enjoying some of our home cooked cuisine.
At The Rising Sun Restaurant enjoy a luxurious three course meal or happily while away unaccounted hours over lattes or a drink with friends in surroundings that soothe and please. The decor enhances the warm and a friendly atmosphere which can be enjoyed by all diners. For over 30 years The Rising Sun Restaurant has been offering quality, home produced meals for its customers, from humble beginnings, Daily Lunches & Snacks, to our present day all full menu service, Breakfast, Lunch, Bar Menu and A la carte Menu and Carvery. We strive to provide value for money while maintaining our high standards.
Our restaurant is family friendly with Children’s Menu, High Chairs and Colouring Sheet to help keep the little ones amused.
Lunch is served daily in an intimate restaurant offering the best in local produce. The Restaurant in The Garrandarragh Inn serves a table service lunch menu Monday to Sunday, our head chefs motto is “only the freshest produce will do” and all of this is sourced locally from prime cuts of Irish beef to fresh fruit and vegetables. All our stock is bought fresh that morning and prepared in our very own kitchen by our superb chefs and cooks.
