GUINNESS TEAMS UP WITH ITALIAN RUGBY LEGEND, MARTIN CASTROGIOVANNI AND BASE WOOD FIRED PIZZA TO CREATE THE ULTIMATE ITALIAN-IRISH PIZZA, WITH A TOUCH OF GUINNESS MAGIC – ‘THE GUINNESS SCRUMPTIOUS’
Dublin, 24th February 2020: As part of the 2020 GUINNESS SIX NATIONS Experiences and ahead of the round four Ireland v Italy fixture, GUINNESS is celebrating a fusion of the best of Irish and Italian gastro-cultures. GUINNESS will be joining forces with Base Wood Fired Pizza and Italian rugby legend, Martin Castrogiovanni to create the ultimate Italian-Irish pizza, with a touch of GUINNESS magic – ‘the GUINNESS SCRUMptious’. The pizza will be unveiled at an exciting Pizza Party event, hosted by Castrogiovanni himself. Entry closes at 23:59 on Monday, 2nd March. Prize winners and their guests must be over 18.
The GUINNESS SCRUMptious Pizza, topped with GUINNESS marinated Pork Sausage, Scamorza, Smoked Provola and Parmesan will be available in all seven Base Wood Fired Pizza stores across Dublin and through The Bath pub on Bath Avenue from the 6th to 8th March inclusive.
Throughout the championship, GUINNESS is bringing to life the wonderful characteristics of on-field rivalry and off-field friendships, bringing people together for the GUINNESS SIX NATIONS by inviting them to unite and share some of the best cultural experiences on offer across each of the six nations. In the fourth of the GUINNESS SIX NATIONS Experiences, the Pizza Party will be hosted by Martin Castrogiovanni at The Landmark, Wexford Street on Thursday 5th March. Competition winners will be treated to live music and be able to mix and mingle with friends and rivals alike while enjoying the perfect combination of two rival nation’s food and drink heroes – GUINNESS and Pizza!

Over the course of the Championship, GUINNESS is presenting a number of culturally themed experiences involving rival rugby legends and famous chefs. The final GUINNESS SIX NATIONS Experience taking place across the final weekend which sees France meet Ireland will bring together rivals from both nations in a French and Irish fused foodie experience. Guinnesstronomie will see well-known chefs go head to head in a cook-off, with attendees given the opportunity to savour the best foodie experience that each nation has to offer.
