While generating €1.4M through online deliveries during Covid-19, GFP is now celebrating 15 years of adding value to local communities and inviting customers back for indoor dining

29th July 2021: Gourmet Food Parlour, leading Irish restaurant group, is celebrating 15 years in business with a celebratory reopening in line with reopening protocols. Celebrating a decade and a half of great food and people, both employees and loyal customers, the restaurant group is running giveaways throughout the week across its six locations nationwide including its first location, Dun Laoghaire. Having quickly pivoted during the initial Covid-19 lockdown to a delivery service, the restaurant group has generated €1.4M through online platforms such as Just Eat, Menuu and Deliveroo since last year. While the stellar takeaway service will continue, Gourmet Food Parlour is excited to invite customers back into its restaurants across the country.

Having first opening its doors in Dun Laoghaire in 2006 in a small 25-seater establishment to now having six locations across Dublin & Galway the restaurant group is an excellent example of Irish determination led by founder Lorraine Heskin, having grown exponentially throughout the recession and the more recent pandemic.

GFP has served over 5M customers throughout the 15 years, including almost 3M coffees, the restaurant group has come a long way and now has a thriving catering arm with enviable clients such as The Olympic Federation of Ireland and Dublin GAA County Board. With 230 active employees and 95% of suppliers being Irish, Gourmet Food Parlour has and will continue to pride itself on the value it adds to communities through job creation, local initiatives, and the highest quality service. In the past year GFP also launched a new gifting service, Gourmet Gifts, offering customers the opportunity to buy bespoke hampers packed full of Irish artisan goods.

On the 15 years in business and reopening for indoor dining, Lorraine Heskin, owner of Gourmet Food Parlour said: “We’re delighted to be reopening for indoor dining the same week as our 15 years in business. It’s a testament to our fantastic employees and loyal customers that we have seen huge volume of bookings across all our locations for indoor dining. We’ll be managing bookings as per the guidelines and look forward to welcoming all our customers whether it’s for indoor or outdoor dining. We have plans to open a new location later this year and we’re so grateful for the continued support from the communities we are lucky enough to be a part of.”

Dun Laoghaire TD, Richard Boyd Barrett, said: “It’s great to be here today celebrating with the excellent team in Gourmet Food Parlour Dun Laoghaire, a valued part of the local economy for the past 15 years and consistent creator of jobs within the area. To see any Irish business start within our community and go on to great success gives us all in the local area a real sense of pride. Hopefully we will see be in a position to welcome everybody back to indoor dining very soon and put the difficult times we’ve all been through behind us and look forward to a positive time ahead for all.”
