Deliveroo reveals top five dishes in Dublin to ‘cure’ the post Paddy’s weekend woes
From burritos to burgers, Dublin’s favourite comfort foods are revealed
Dublin’s most-ordered post-Paddy’s Day dish is a chicken fillet roll from Spar
Paddy’s weekend is always a busy one. Between saluting our patron Saint Patrick at the parade in the city centre, to keeping up with the many sporting events over the course of the weekend, it’s three days of mighty craic.
This year alone, Ireland’s unofficial queen, Katie Taylor is due to fight for the undisputed lightweight division champion title; Ireland’s rugby squad play Wales in a Grand Slam decider and Dublin takes on Tipperary in the Allianz Hurling League Quarter Final. That’s before we even venture out to the parade!
By the time Monday comes along, many of us will have been overzealous and might be in need of some nourishment to bring us back to life. Fear not, Deliveroo has got your back.
Here are the top Paddy’s weekend roo-covery dishes as voted by Deliveroo customers in Dublin:
That’s right, the humble hot chicken roll reigns supreme. It makes sense given Ireland’s unique relationship with the simple yet satisfying savoury mouthful.
Bobby Burns, a spokesperson for Deliveroo, says: “With so much going on over the course of Paddy’s weekend, we thought our customers might be in need of some food inspiration.”
If that wasn’t enough, Deliveroo has partnered with Spar to create a St Patrick’s Day Recovery Bundle, containing all our fave food remedies – a glorious chicken fillet roll, a revitalising bottle of Lucozade Sport, a homely packet of Tayto crisps and a mouth-watering Dairy Milk bar.
This bundle is available exclusively on the Deliveroo platform for one day only on the 18th March 2019, and comes as a single bundle (€8) or a couples’ bundle (€15).
