Carlsberg is bringing some much-needed cheer to the island of Ireland this December by welcoming people back to bars and restaurants with a free pint, and getting some of Ireland’s funniest social media stars together to share their unique take on Christmas 2020.
Shane Todd and Killian Sundermann, among others, have joined forces with Carlsberg to create a Christmas social media content series raising a smile, a glass and a farewell to 2020. Alongside this, bar and restaurant-goers can enjoy a free pint of Carlsberg with food while getting together responsibly this December.
The campaign, Christmas Cheers, has been created to deliver a little Christmas spirit through great pints and great laughs while supporting the hospitality trade.
Former Irish rugby player Tommy Bowe is supporting the launch of the campaign And He said: “It’s been a difficult year for many so, it’s great to do something positive for people, whether that’s giving them a laugh, , or helping support local bars and restaurants through free pints of Carlsberg. I know now I am looking forward to getting my free pint!”
Colum Campbell, Carlsberg Marketing Manager at Diageo Ireland commented: “We know Christmas is going to feel and look different this year. The idea behind Christmas Cheers is to give people something to smile about while providing much needed support to the hospitality sector as some welcome people back safely and responsibly. So hopefully the simple pleasure of a laugh and a free pint makes a little difference for those that are meeting up safely in bars and restaurants over the Christmas period.”
The Christmas content series will be released in the lead up to Christmas Day and can be viewed on Carlsberg Ireland social media channels @CarlsbergIreland.
